A swamp of regret,
Reeds of pain along the shore.
Bubbling murky feelings,
Releasing thoughts of culpability.
Stuck in the thick black bottom,
Sinking in the sorrow of blame.
Buzzing gnats in my face,
Indicting me for what I have (and have not) done.
Monsters rise from the depths,
Teeth nash my flesh.
Crushing, smashing, tearing my soul.
Pulling me down into darkness forever.
